Lauren Hurley, MS, LMFT

Hi, I’m Lauren!

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience working with children, teens, families and parents to help them with their pain and offer hopeful, evidenced- based ways to discover healing and balance.

The Professional Stuff

I have a Master of Science Degree in counseling, with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Northridge.

I am formally trained in Bowenian therapy and graduated from the year-long internship program from Phillips Graduate Institute.

Over 10 years ago, I completed a rigorous year-long training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that was developed from the highest level of training and experience in providing evidence-based treatment, and it has now become a primary area of my counseling practice.

My extensive experience working in a community mental health setting has provided me an opportunity to work with a variety of different populations, cultures, and various socioeconomic standings. I have years of counseling experience helping those with PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, child abuse, blended family issues, relationship issues and Foster Care, while utilizing an approach of unconditional positive regard and trauma-informed care.

The Personal Stuff

I believe having a work-life balance is important!

I make sure to spend my spare time reading a good book, listening to music, and spending time out in nature. I enjoy hiking the trails of Oregon with family and friends, walking on the beach, and photographing the beauty of the Southern coast, usually accompanied by my 3 pups.
